Our New House

We just found out today that, if all goes well, this old Baptist church from the 1800's will be our new home! It was converted for residential use in the 1980's and is just one village away, which means the kids can stay in their current schools. The only annoying thing is that it's tenanted at the moment so we may have to wait until April before we can actually move in. Well, that and the possibility that it MIGHT have graves in the garden! I'll have to do some investigation on that one. I love it because it looks so American. I've got all kinds of plans to fix it up and put our own stamp on it. Watch this space...

UPDATE: The tenants have agreed to move out early so we're hoping to be moved in by December 15th! It'll be lovely to be in by Christmas!

UPDATE: Our buyers pulled out with less than a month to go before moving day. Very disappointing. I guess it's back to the drawing board for us. We'll take our house off the market over Christmas (so we can have some peace) and start again in the new year... if we can bear it!

So cute! And now that I look at it again, once your gate is black and your doors are red, that scalloped flashing will actually fit right in and be cute. Can't wait to see it!

"Death comes unexpectedly!" I'm thinking of Pollyanna when I see that steeple!

This is so charming. Congratulations, good luck, and jealousy seeping from my veins as you talk about ideas for fixing it up. HOW FUN! I love, too, the chapelpesqueness. I once knew people who turned a church into an apartment in San Francisco...it was unbelievable, and on top of that, they called it "the church".

Fantastic! Is it closer to London side?

It looked like there was room in the back yard for some carrots, broccoli, lettuce radishes and onions etc.??

Very awesome. Congratulations. I met a couple recently in our store that were from Kent, just a short few minutes from you but their village name escapes me at the moment.

Wow! It's awesome! April? Will your house be sold before then? What will you do if you have to move out earlier? Can't they just tell the tenants they have to move out? That's what they do here, unless there's a lease or something I guess. So, is there a realtor website or something like the others that I can see more pictures of it? Send me a link!
