It's a work in progress and changes monthly but I think we have a nice mix of possibles.Yesterday I got to meet one of our possibles, Michael Palin, in the flesh. He was doing a book signing at the mall. I've never asked anyone for an autograph before and, to be honest, I felt like a dork but he was very gracious and polite.
The only annoying thing was that Tabby and I had to stand in line for over an hour to see him! We were number 111 out of 150 people. The only thing that kept me going was my fervent love of Monty Python.Edward's been a lifelong fan of Michael Palin so I asked that the book be dedicated to him. I thought it'd make a good Christmas present. Unfortunately I'm rubbish at keeping secrets from my husband so the cat was out of the bag in less than 24 hours.
As he was signing the book I told him he was on our fantasy dinner guest list and said I wanted to come down and meet him in person to see if we'd get along. He was very sweet and said he thought I'd probably be a great cook. I told him I wasn't but that it didn't matter since it was only a virtual dinner anyway. He gave me a courtesy laugh then kindly thanked us for coming and said goodbye to Tabitha, who ignored him completely.
After meeting him in person I'm pretty sure I'd keep him on our guest list. Drat! I'm supposed to be narrowing it down. We've only got four spare seats, and that's if we squeeze!
Who would you invite?

Dang, it's a good thing you and Eddie look out for my spelling. I honestly appreciate it. I'm glad to get the chance to correct it before I make a book of it. Usually, I just don't proof-read when I'm in a rush. I did have to go back to my blog to see the names.
Great list - of those I recognize (quite a few) there are four I would also choose. My own lists have been "if I could visit one on one" and definitely include the gone-but-not-forgotten. But mix them up at a dinner party... that WOULD be interesting.
We were only playing about the spelling Tiana. You know me, I stink at spelling!
Way to go on being so lucid when you met him! I always think I'm going to be so cool the celebrity will think, "Hmm. Get a load of this classy chick. How refreshing! We should probably hang out and then become best friends."
What really happens is that I completely clam up and miss the chance to talk to them at all (Tony Danza--yes, I'm talking about real, high-class celebrities here) or I am so cool that I forget to acknowledge their celebrity status at all and miss a big chance to get something cool for MY spouse (Andy Irons--world champion surfer).
So kudos. Tell Edward he never had it so good!
I love that in his haste, he almost spelled dinner with one "n". I can NEVER keep secrets either, from Hy.
What about the creators of Ren and Stimpy (remember the hours you and Dak would watch that)?
A romance novel author, since Eddie has a thing for those?
Ummm...
As for me, I don't know that I'd have the courage to invite anyone socially above me because I'm sure my table manners would be disgraceful in comparison. I haven't dined anywhere fancy or with anyone fancy in my entire life! I'd be worried about it all night! But it would be cool to meet these people since I admire their work:
Alton Brown, as long as he's cooking (he's the Bill Nye of the culinary world)
Candice from Divine Design, just so I could pick her designing brain.
Sarah Snow, so she could "green" my house and such. I like her show, though I've only seen it a couple of times.
I'd have to think longer for more. I just never really thought about it before.
Sounds like you could have started a tag...
